Access and onboarding
Zero is approval-gated. After your request is approved, the console walks you through five onboarding steps before you can run your first Work item.
Overview
The onboarding flow has five steps. Three are system-managed (you wait for them to advance). Two require operator action.

System steps advance automatically — there is no action for you to take. The console shows a progress indicator with each step's status.
System steps
After you submit an access request from the homepage:
- account — your account record is created and the
accountstep is marked complete immediately. - verify — you receive a verification email. Click the link to advance the step. The link expires in 48 hours.
- approved — the team reviews your request. On approval, your account state advances to
APPROVEDand you receive a console login link.
Download
Once approved, navigate to /dashboard/download in the console. The page detects your platform and offers the correct installer:

Files are served from https://storage.googleapis.com/zero-releases/v0.1.0/. The version shown in the console download page is authoritative — check there if these paths differ.
After opening the app, return to the console and click Mark as downloaded to advance the download step.
Connect provider
Navigate to /dashboard/providers. Select an AI execution provider and configure it inside the console. Once connected, the connect_provider step completes and you can create your first Work item.
Zero does not accept bring-your-own API keys through the console. Provider selection and configuration happen inside the app.
Account states
Your console account passes through the following states:

ACTIVE | Download and provider steps complete. Full access to all console features. |
Console navigation
Once logged in, the console left nav contains:
- Dashboard — overview and onboarding progress
- Activity — recent Work item and session activity
- Cases — Work item list
- Billing — plan, usage, and plan switching
- Download — app download and heartbeat status
- Keys — API key management (for tooling integrations)
- Providers — AI execution provider configuration
- Onboarding — step progress
- Settings — account settings
